Located at 26 km from the campsite, and 55 km from the Hungarian border. Arad City is the capital of the Arad County. Certificate in the XI century, was the battle ground for the Turkish and Habsburgic empire. Being located on the Mures River, considered as a border until 1687, when it was freed by the Eugen de Savoia, Feld marshal of the Saint Roman Empire. In 1834 Arad was declared as a royal city by the Emperor Francisc the 1st. Also the city was also knows during the years as Little Viena or Little Paris.
